Care & Maintenance

Sheepskin Care
- Shake & Fluff: To maintain its signature volume, give your rug a vigorous shake outdoors once a week. This removes dust and helps the fibers bounce back.
- Brushing: Use a metal-bristled sheepskin brush (or a slicker brush) periodically. This prevents matting and keeps the wool feeling exceptionally soft.
- Spot Cleaning: For small spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Use a specialized sheepskin detergent or a mild wool-safe soap if necessary.
- Professional Cleaning: For deep cleaning, we recommend professional dry cleaning or a specialist leather cleaner to preserve the natural oils in the hide.
Merino Wool Care
- Airing & Freshening: Merino wool is naturally odor-resistant and self-cleaning. Instead of washing, simply hang the throw outdoors on a dry, breezy day for an hour to refresh the fibers and remove dust.
- Spot Cleaning: If a spill occurs, act quickly. Blot the area gently with a clean, damp cloth and a drop of wool-safe detergent. Do not rub or scrub, as this will cause the wool to "felt" or mat.
- Washing: We recommend Professional Dry Cleaning to maintain the throw's original shape and softness. If you choose to wash it at home, hand wash only in cool water with a specialized wool detergent.
- Drying: Never use a tumble dryer. If wet, lay the throw flat on a clean towel in its original shape. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators), which can make the fibers brittle.

Cotton Care
1. Launder with Care: Remove the microfiber insert before washing. Machine wash the cotton shell and the insert separately in cool water (up to 30°C) on a gentle cycle. Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent to preserve the integrity of the cotton fibers and the loft of the microfiber.
2. Air Dry Only: To maintain the perfect fit and prevent shrinkage of the natural cotton shell, do not tumble dry. Lay both the shell and the insert flat on a drying rack in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent any color fading over time.
3. The Finishing Touch: If the cotton shell requires smoothing after drying, iron on a low temperature setting. For the best results, iron the shell while it is still slightly damp or use a light steam setting to restore its crisp, luxurious finish before reinserting the microfiber fill.
